Terms & Conditions

We aim to ensure that Happy Feet School is a constantly developing community of children, staff, and parents, committed to providing a happy, safe, and secure environment in which each child can develop at their own pace.

Admissions

Children will be considered for entry when a completed Admission Form has been submitted. Following provisional acceptance, families must visit the school on 24th, 25th, or 26th September between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon to complete enrolment and pay the admission fee.

Standard Terms

Acceptance of a place is on the basis that changes may be made from time to time to these standard terms and conditions, to the level of fees, and to the curriculum and services. Notice of any change will be given as soon as practicable, but on occasions it will be less than one month.

Opening Hours

School hours are Monday to Friday during term time.

Nursery: 9:15 am – 11:30 am (collect by 11:30 am)
Lower KG: 9:15 am – 12:00 pm (collect by 12:00 pm)

If you know you will be late, please arrange for someone else to collect your child and notify the school of who to expect.

The Child's Health

Parents must inform the school if the child has a known medical condition or health problem, or has been in contact with infectious diseases. The child must not be brought to school if he or she is unwell.

Payment of Fees

Fees will be invoiced on a termly basis and must be settled by the end of the first week of each term. If fees remain outstanding despite reminders, the school reserves the right to withhold Transfer Certificates and report cards.

Fees are the joint responsibility of each person who has signed the Admission Form. Fees will not be refunded or waived for absence through sickness, holidays, or any other cause.

Withdrawals

A written notice of 30 days is required to withdraw your child from the school. On withdrawal, no amount of money will be refunded under any circumstances.

What to Bring

Parents need to provide a nutritious packed lunch. Nappies, wipes, and an extra set of clothes are to be provided by the parent and kept at school. The school will make reasonable endeavours to keep property in good order, however liability for loss or damage is excluded except where caused by our negligence.

Settling Sessions

We work hard to ensure every child is happy and settled. Sometimes children need parents or carers to help with this transition and you may be requested to stay for a settling session. We actively and patiently address separation anxiety.

Parents / Guardians Authority

Parents authorise the school to act in loco parentis in all respects. Parents and guardians consent to the use of such physical contact with children as may be lawful, appropriate, and proper for teaching, and to provide comfort in distress or to maintain safety and good order. Parents also consent to emergency medical treatment including surgery and/or general anaesthetic if certified necessary by a doctor and if parents cannot be contacted in time.

Babysitting

Parents and carers are discouraged from asking staff to babysit outside school hours.

Weather & Act of God

If the weather becomes severe or causes concern for the welfare of children or staff, parents will be called and asked to collect their child from school.

Special Precautions

The school must be notified in writing immediately of any court orders or situations of risk in relation to the child for which any special precautions may be needed.

Liability

The school accepts no responsibility for any loss suffered by parents arising directly or indirectly as a result of the school being temporarily closed or the non-admittance of a child for any reason, including absence due to sickness or holidays. The school accepts no responsibility for children whilst in their parents' care on school premises, i.e. prior to arrival or after pick-up.

The school will not be liable to parents and/or children for any economic loss of any kind, for damage to the child's or parents' property, for any loss resulting from a claim made by a third party, or for any special, indirect, or consequential loss or damage of any kind. The school will make reasonable endeavours to keep parents' and children's property in good order. Liability for damage to such property is excluded except where caused by our negligence.

Concerns & Complaints

Parents and guardians who have cause for concern must inform the school without delay.

Waiver

Any waiver of these terms and conditions is only effective if given in writing by or on behalf of the school management.

Parents and guardians are expected to give their support and encouragement to the aims of the school. Acceptance of a place is conditional on agreement to these terms. By submitting an application, parents confirm they have read and agree to the above terms and conditions.
